CRACKLIN GUM ON MY TONGUE
Ide André teamed up with Corine van der Wal (risowiso) and worked on this limited edition riso publication for over half a year. This publication, published in an edition of 119, shows "60 thrusting scenes in colour" beautifully riso printed. The book boasts a black silkscreened soft cover and Japanese fold. The book includes a stunning essay by Barbara Collé, written for this occasion.
''As I wade through the uncomplicated colours and feel their uplifting energy, I wonder how this transfer of energy works. What tricks do these sensations play on me? What exactly is this energy that sparks between the colours and between the colours and me? The effect of the colour is tangible: it actually crackles and gives me something to hold onto. I know nothing, but I am there. It is the sound that gives me a footing and confirms my experience. Only because I hear the sizzling do I know what I am feeling. It’s the soft crackling sound that makes me dare to believe what I see - Barbara Collé
